Alcohol stoves

Anyone ever make the alcohol stoves for camping? I hear they are pretty easy to make & efficient to use for boiling water when you packing light.

It's ok - it's denatured alcohol!

Yes but you'd be drinking outside amidst nature, so it all works out in the end.

If you tried to use the same alcohol to drink that you use in these stoves, you'd get more than you bargained for - and it wouldn't be pleasant!
Lets stick to beer...

yeah. don't drink that stuff, unless you wanna go blind! %<

i use a trangia alcohol stove and i love it...

some folks make them out of soda cans, which is cool, but you need to make sure the holes punched in the can are really small for the thing to be efficient. i have used the soda can/beer can stoves, and personally i reccommend the trangia instead. it's a little heavier, but you can store some alcohol inside the stove body, and it's made out of brass.
