i use a trangia alcohol stove and i love it...
some folks make them out of soda cans, which is cool, but you need to make sure the holes punched in the can are really small for the thing to be efficient. i have used the soda can/beer can stoves, and personally i reccommend the trangia instead. it's a little heavier, but you can store some alcohol inside the stove body, and it's made out of brass.
