Now, I fell on my cement

I was walking out to my car earlier with shoes that don't have grips on the bottom - very slippery shoes - and I fell straight down to the cement.
One minute I was walking - the next I was lying down. I had to lay there for a moment to recover from the shock :-o
My elbow still really hurts when I bend my arm all the way...

Thank goodness the neighbor did not see *sigh* I feel so silly when that happens.

Also - It is time to turn the furnace on - it's 60 in here and I heard last night it went down to 40 degrees out. I have to take a closer look at it tomorrow, right now I'm sitting here decked out in a coat and boots - ever since I got home earlier. haha

A tree fell on my house!

I have a huge tree which my family help cut down half of summer before last - and a great big limb of what was left standing (the tall part) fell on my house! I can't believe no windows are broken.

I need to borrow someone's chainsaw!

DMB

It's all alright

I like PINE - not the scent, the message system

I used this as a mail client in school, and it's always just worked for me.

Don't know why, but I still like it, just the way that I still like suds & muds :-D

I want SPICY pizza - WITH Cheese!

So, I just got out of class and my throat is a bit scratchy from this cold *cough*, but I suddenly have a want for spicy pizza. I'll have to get some soon.
I'm kind of happy because I made a breakthrough on a program that I've been having trouble with - I think I've finally got it to where I can finish the assignment up fairly quickly due to a higher level of understanding. I was very impressed.
Not sure how I will ever use the skill that I've obtained from these classes... I fear that I have spent 3 semesters learning for nothing. A cultural expierence? To impress my friends?? Nah..

On an unrelated note:

Right now I have this song in my head - it's a stupid country song (and I'm not kidding - some country music is good, but this song is not so good - very stupid actually) - I know exactly where I got it from too.
There was this FoxTrot demonstration that I went to on Friday, where I also had the opportunity to learn the Waltz a bit - ohh, I'm so intrigued - you have no idea...
But the story is that when I was there - randomly - the "DJ" of sorts put on this song by "Big & Rich" namely - "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" - the only problem with this song is that it has a catchy beat (I suppose) and it is stuck in my head now - and I really don't like the song, much.

People started doing country line dancing the likes of which I've never seen before - interesting, but not intriguing.

Anyway, the reason that I'm even logged on right now is because I wanted to tell everyone that spicy pizza is good and I want some soon, probably this weekend.
I'll let you know all about it - pizza bakers should consider baking all day and bringing me pizza at my house :) wouldn't that be a novel idea - pizza delivered to the door - nearly any time of day? - Ya, that's right! I'm going to the patent office...

Cheers, Peach.

Stop trying to sell me stuff!!

I went home a little early today from work to rest because I was feeling ill - and people keep calling me over and over and trying to sell me stuff!!

OHH, I just got off the phone with MCI, I had to tell him I wasn't interested 4 times - I am really considering cancelling my home phone except for it doesn't have a minute restriction like my cell phone does, and it would work even in the event that the cell towers were not available.

Stop calling me people - I am really truly not interested. If I was interested today, I would call you and I really don't feel good so let me be!

Once today, I picked up the phone and someone I didn't recognize said "Hello, Miss?", and I responded "Don't call here anymore" and hung up.

Sorry to be rude - but geez!

Weather Changes

So, last Thursday was the first day of fall - my mom told me *between sniffles* when she was over to visit.
And, I know one thing for sure... this is the time when the weather changes and makes everyone sick during the temperature adjustment. Ever since she told me that people have been sick around me here and there ... at work, my friends, my family...

I think I might be coming down with something because I feel generally out of it and ill today.

This can't be! I've been taking my vitamins...?

Workers

So, this morning I was driving to work and there is some work being done on Rt11 with one of the power line poles. Everyone in their cars looked miserable... people walking out of the restaurant - also unhappy.

The worker who was holding the flag and directing traffic smiled at me. Now that is a reason to have a good day :)

Most Beautiful Sky

I was driving to dance class today and I saw the most beautiful sky - the moon was low in the sky and it was just gorgeous.

It's so clear out tonight - on the way back home the moon was much higher and you could see all of the light coming off random clouds in the darkened sky.

I love, love, love this time of year. It's almost time to pick apples - the leaves are turning - it's cold enough for sweatshirts at night - it's a great time to bake - life slows down a little - and it's not to hot or too cold for walking outside.

October is probably my favorite month of the year.

Pink Floyd Tribute Band - Palace Theater tonight!

Syracuse.com Article

Not sure how this show'll be - we've been talking about it at work. At first we thought it was "The Wall" which probably would have been cool but found out it was this, so I don't know.

Cheers.

Just noticed - this is the same band that played at Oswego's Harbor Fest - I know some people watched that this year, it was right after the fireworks - anyone have reviews?

Indian Pass / Avalanche Pass trip

The trip this past weekend was great. It was a total 22 mile round trip hike (with a nice very comfortable overnight stop at the lodge in the middle).
Started the trip by going to Aunt Polly's where I slept in the barn - now, I was imagining a rotting old piece of junk building with smelly hay and rotting moldly stuff - water logged bugs, spiders and cow manure. Instead, the stay up there was better than some hotels. Sorry to disappoint you!
I had my brand new sleeping bag with me too, so that was nice and warm.
Trip in a nutshell - Hiked all day Sat - had dinner, looked at the stars, slept - next day - had breakfast and hiked back to the cars.
I'd write more, but it's getting late and I'm tired, but I promised to post these pictures because I never do. Really, I don't - (Mr. Furious says I only post them when I'm looking fierce - I suppose that's true).
So anyway, here they are.
After hiking I was really looking forward to some cheerios.

I'm sorry that I didn't even get a chance to blog about last weekend! One of the most wonderful people I know brought me to Lake George where we hiked to the summit of Prospect Mountain. He's got the pictures for that one. After visiting Prospect, we browsed around Lake George Village, played minature golf, ate bad for you ice cream, went to Smokey Bones, and played competitive Monopoly.
The 2 minature tootsie-rolls we won after playing minature golf became my trail food this past weekend.

I can't believe how lucky I've been to have the opportunity to have done all of these things this summer!
And this winter I've got a new recruit for snowshoeing and skiing, Muhahah!

..........................
So, there is this system I'm trying to use at work - the unnameable web interface that is slower than molasses (although I shouldn't say that because molasses goes pretty fast when I am around). Well, anyway, I'm sick of waiting for it for a moment - so if there is something slowing it down maybe it will finish while I blog for a minute here.

Last Wednesday I went out to see a band, "30 Seconds to Mars", and at one point, not when the drums were playing or when they were singing or anything - I believe it was when the singer was yelling something into the microphone - something happened to my left ear. Ever since that incident, things have been a bit muffled, though I only notice it when I'm trying to listen to something carefully. It seems that it mostly affects lyrics in a song or people's voices. Everything that I read online indicates that any kind ear damage is permanent so I'm out of luck in fixing it if it is damage, though they say that it gets better in a few days. I guess the body compensates for loss.
You know the ironic thing? I have ear plugs at home - special ones for this type of event! I should have grabbed them - sheesh - call me Miss forgetful.
Well, I guess one way to look at it is it might always be something, you know. I read you are supposed to wear earplugs when mowing your lawn, or when a firetruck goes by. I guess if we really want to be careful we should all wear spacesuits to protect us from the elements.
Oh well, next time - I will wear the ear plugs.
I decided not to go to the doctors for this one because there is really nothing they can do.

More soon.

Music

It's amazing how sometimes hearing a song can bring me back to a different space in time.

Windows Machine Harddrive bit the dust

So, this morning my Windows Machine harddrive bit the dust - finally. It's been a couple months of occassional harddrive clicking noises. The machine would just lock for a second, and then let me go on with my business.
I'm surprised it let me work this long, actually.
When it started happening, I hooked up a tape drive and dumped my stuff to tape - that was in July. I tried backing up again this morning - no luck. My machine actually boots extremely slowly but won't load any programs... even the ones that I've got starting up automagically.

ohh, and one day - I changed my IM password to something random - I wonder what that password is? no talkie!

Good thing I've been saving my stuff elsewhere since the backup.

Muhahaha - I love computers. So much for working on Sharepoint today - it's not too Linux savvy oy.

Colden Trip Picture

This is an interesting picture from the Colden Trip - ahahahah
