There comes a time - about now that my body starts shaking from just being up too long in front of the computer since approx 8:30am yesterday - (So now, there is no stopping me from going to the gym this "holiday" weekend!) - Goodnight!

Class and High Definition TV - I know - unrelated items :)

One good thing about class is that it is nice and toasty in the room! I don't even have to wear a huge sweater or a coat.
I think I'm going a little overboard with ideas on how to complete my projects in the class though because lately they are taking me a really long time. It takes me a while just to decide what the best concept to utilize is.
I just have to keep on telling myself - keep it simple!

It was mentioned the other day at work that in 2008? all broadcasting will be only in high definition - anyone have the scoop? I looked for articles on it around the internet and found nothing. I'm in the market for a new television.

Chase Pitkin Stores - Closing?

I just read an article in the paper saying that the Chase Pitkin stores will be liquidating their inventory starting November 27th and plan to have the 3 stores closed by March! Blast!
I like going to Chase Pitkin because it is so close to home, however, I must admit that I tend to prefer Home Depot for some things. Now I won't have the option!
What a surprise - and I'm sorry to see another store go out of business.

I think that the opening of Lowe's and that new super Walmart on Rt11 contributed to this!

One thing that never changes is that there will always be change.

Old Cartoons

So, tonight I went over to my father's house for my little sister's birthday party.
She is growing up so fast!! I can't believe it - she's dressing and acting like a teenager now (boot cut jeans, black shoes, black purse - likes Avril Laverne (sp?)). Oh, how times change so quickly!
I told her that she's not allowed to grow up anymore though - and she said ok, so we are all set now :)

My dad had out the video camera again too - fabulous. He tried to comfort me by saying, "Well, we are the only ones who will watch the tape - and maybe some other people." "OH, Good." - I said. I really hope noone gets ahold of those family videos. I recall one mother's day when I was getting everyone to dance outside... yep - all on tape - yikes!

While I was over there, I asked my dad for some cartoons that I used to watch as a kid because the plan is to take a day, get up at a kind of normal time, eat breakfast and then watch cartoons and relax all morning.

My dad found some cartoon movies that he had bought for me when I was little and told me that I can have them. How great is that? One of them even has my handwriting (from back then) on it.
He also has some cartoon marathons from the 80s which should be interesting to watch. I wonder how many cartoons I can take before wanting to watch something else! I really want to copy the christmas tape that we used to watch - it has Claymation Christmas, Charlie Brown, Garfield, and that one with the mice :) I don't know of an easy way to get the data from the VHS tape to another format, shucks.

Finishing up some paperwork and calling it a night - anyone know if I can take a huge box of random paperwork to have it shredded? I really don't want a shredder cluttering up my office - I have enough junk already!

Love for Cranberries

From the Can, Not the Band

Mmmmmm, I'm eating my first bit of Cranberry Sauce this year - the one with the Berries, not only the Gel.
It's one of my favorite foods - oh my goodness!

So, I'm in P&C the other day picking up some stuff for el Barbeque - yes, this very past weekend - it's Mid-November and we're still grilling! (And I plan to do it all winter this year - yes, yes, it's true - I will grill in January! Muhahah) P&C has all the convenient Thanksgiving items laid out for you there in the aisle - and I was drawn to the island like I had elastic that was pulling me towards the rows of cans of pumpkin and fluffernutter - CRANBERRY SAUCE... mmmm.

You know what's the best though - when you take cranberry sauce and you mix it with walnuts. Step away from the cranberries guys!

I'll just distract all of you with the turkey and I'll make way with my cranberries.

Shhhhhhhh...

Another thing that I want to mention - this weekend I also heard "Holy Joly Christmas" playing in the store. Can you believe it? It's that time already!

Speaking of that - who would like to hibernate through all of the holiday season? Sometimes I think I would, but secretly I really like it - it's just really hard to buy presents - I know, most women are really good at this kind of thing, right? Buying presents, going shopping - doing little special things around Christmas... I guess that's what I get for living with my dad for a better part of my growing up.

Now, if you need help stringing up your lights... j/k!

Ok, should really get some work done now! More soon.

Who's going to "lights on the lake" this year?

Thoughts while in class

I don't know if I've blogged this yet or not - but this semester I am taking two classes. They are two pretty high level courses too, not really hard, mostly time consuming - I'm auditing one (Systems Analysis & Design) so I will be on time to take the second half next semester and also taking the last of a series (Advanced Algorithms in C++).

After signing myself up for the second class (SA&D), I kept on thinking to myself that when I finish taking classes someday that I should cater a Starbucks cappuccino maker team and invite all of my friends over to party because this is just too insane! I just have to remember that I have been busier than this before...

And... I guess October is a time that it seems every year just gets really busy - and that's when this all started sooo - well, times change and the amount of busyness really depends on the time of year and circumstance, so it will change soon enough.

The odd thing about it is that I have all of these thoughts and am really motivated to organize lately, but it seems that I just haven't the time!

Additionally, I'm looking forward to the downtime of Thanksgiving - granted, most of you probably would never imagine that I'd be saying that type of thing - but it's true now - and I think maybe I've changed my thoughts a slight bit on that - I really do like to have some time to have fun and visit with those I care about outside of the obligation of work and school.

Anyway, so I'm sitting in class tonight - and the teacher is reviewing things that I've heard in class several times and I was just realizing for probably the millionth time (yet it still is surprising to me) how vast the field of computers really is - the possibilities are immense. You can pretty much change any process that you have in business and make it customized to the most efficient way by designing a computer system - that process too will eventually have to be revised to a new level of efficiency that will continue to evolve over time.
The evolution of the information technology field is one thing that is not going to change. It is still constantly evolving - and there is so much to learn - that's my conclusion. I could spend hours and days and years learning and never not have something new to learn. That's what makes it so great and why I'm still intrigued by it.

Too bad all technology would be rendered useless if we all lost power.

And now that I've rambled on - I must say I am exhausted - goodnight folks, more later.

Danimals

Little tiny drinkable yogurts by Dannon - absolutely delicious. It is seriously not that much yogurt at all - you could probably drink like 4 of these things, but the strawberry - banana one is soooo good!

My Cell Phone

It's amazing how my cell phone can vibrate so violently and not shake something loose!

BTW - I think the weirdness of the world is wearing off. Things are returning to normal. Must have been the time change.

I want to roast pumpkin seeds, but I don't have any time!!
Back to work...
Cheerio.

Breathe in the weirdness

Is it me, or is everyone in an odd mood since the time change? Or is it all of this oddly good weather that is affecting people?
