Missing out

Life is full of should-have's, I wish I's, and somedays.

Sometimes you just need the guts to not care & do.

Recommendation request - The candy of the vacation!

You may recall, if you have been an avid blog reader, that every vacation that I have requires that I have a special candy of the vacation - to be eaten frequently during that vacation.

Last vacation, my candy of choice was Saltwater taffy. (before that it was redhots, and again before that was lifesavers)

With my up and coming vacation (after one more day + an additional 3 on call days), time is running out to determine what will be the candy of this pending vacation.

So far, I've come up with the following ideas:

Sour worms (like sour patch kids, but like gummy worms)
Licorice flavored jelly beans..

Help me come up with some more ideas?

Zzzzz zzz.. zz.

Soon! I might catch the birds again this morning :) - ok, time to drive home.

Oh, I hate that!

Ever get so preoccupied in the morning that you forget to turn on instant messenger?
How about so preoccupied at work that you don't want to get up to use the bathroom (even though it is getting to be an important task) because you are focused?
Or been plagued by miscommunication / misinterpretation which causes the need for multiple repetition of the explaining?

Firefox has a new version today - 1.0.6 - that patches the recently released patch (thanks MrFurious) - check it out.

Look at that car on MSN!

My, my, look what we have - it's that rare red car on the front page!

We had some awesome thunderstorms last week and over the weekend, didn't you think? The storms knocked out some power lines last Thursday giving the "Nationals" participants an extra chance to show their cars off in the hotness of a traffic jam.

I love standing outside when the rain is just about to come. Those moments when the thunder and lightning is in the distance and the wind picks up show us how intense and amazing nature really is.
Last night, I stood outside watching the sky light up again and again - as if someone were setting off fireworks from above. Most wonderful...

This weekend was composed of tales from the past and wonderment - it ended with thunder and blues. I couldn't have asked for better.

On another note, I forgot to register for class next semester. I hope it's not too late! This will be class 3 of 3, programming.

More soon - I haven't forgotten that I owe you some pictures of my balloon chasing and such...

Music Discovery!

Ohhh my gosh!! I heard this song at Salsa, ohhh I'd say over the winter sometime - I just heard it on launch today... it is by Daddy Yankee - the song is Gasolina!
It's like a merengue but more like club "groove" music! I found out too that he has other songs that I recognize too, also from dancing!

I want his CD now!

Also, I want Shakira's new CD.

Ok, I know it's hot!

My office is more than 100 degrees, I am sure of it. I can't believe that my computer isn't screaming.
The outdoors smells like cut flowers and the moon looks odd tonight - it's almost unrecognizable.

Which causes me to question, if you saw something unidentifiable in the sky - would you drive towards it or away from it?

Contemplating similarities and routine tonight as I blog in waves ;)
Crazy Blogger Girl - aka, peach.

PS. peaches are in season it seems right now, I had the best peach today, pick them up at your local Farmer's Market!
Seems my viewers have an obsession with Coocoo..

What's in my diet Pepsi?

I was going for caffeine and read the label... My diet soda CONTAINS PHENYALANINE - Yummy! Good thing my anxiety is low tonight, didn't bargain for this hunger suppressing boost, bonus! :-p

Three Letters - H O T

The instructor is talking about overloading operators - on the way here it was overly hot and I'm still cooling off in the air-conditioned room.
Being hot makes it hard to concentrate!
Atleast I was able to avoid that military person with the gun - I got someone else while he was busy inspecting another car that was pulled over (never a good sign).

Here :) have some notes:
istream &operator>>(istream &input, PhoneNumber &num)
{
}

The 'this' pointer is always passed in my every method to the compiler - it has the value of the left hand operator - the calling operator.

Overloading a operand allows you to use operands with objects which you wouldn't otherwise be able to use (you'd have to create functions to do the same thing) - this ends up being a cleaner way of programming.

Who is that?

Please help me remember, who is the guy who always used to say in an annoying voice on TV - "Oh, I HATE that! (when that happens)"?

Cereal is so stinkin good

I've been eating Kashi cereal all week - and their cereal and oatmeal is soo good - just wanted to say that. This morning I had "Heart to Heart" which is kind of like Cheerios but better. Problem with this yummy cereal is that I like to eat a big bowl!

Oh, and the other night - I was going through my filing cabinet looking for some hangers for pictures (oh yes, so organized) and I found my Shakira CD! At one point I almost bought a new one because I thought that it was gone forever, so that's really cool.
Objection Tango, muhah ;)

Story for you

You'll have to forgive me for blabbering on if that is what I am about to do, for I have just completed my midterm in C++ Take 2.
I had to write this counter, in the most complicated way that I could figure or imagine in my head because it couldn't be that easy, could it? I was trying to make it the best possible way that I could with the knowledge that I have thus far from this course, while being out of practice because it was just the weekend mind you. Oh, my brain is on fire!

So, now for the story:
You might know that I take my class on the airforce base here... which is sometimes interesting because you have to prove that you are not a killer or terrorist sometimes and that can be hard with old student ids, etc.
So, I'm driving to school and the entrance is blocked off - I vaguely was remembering the memo from 2 weeks ago saying that I should enter in a different area. This is great, by the way, because they are finally paving the road which they tore up on base for some reason and it makes it a pain to rush to class when there is a million rocks everywhere and the road is a hole where pavement once was. But anyway!
So, it was raining and thundering and I'm trying to find the place where I should go in, because the other place was blocked off.

I find this nearby entrance, just around the corner from where I normally go in - except this entrance is plastered with signs saying things like "Authorized Military Persons only" - yikes! I'm not authorized, am I?

So, I drive up anyway and there is this truck blocking the road, now remember it's all dark and rainy and thundering. So, this guy gets out of his truck with a huge GUN. I mean - the gun is bigger than me. And he's fumbling with it. He's trying to carry this huge thing. He is mad, (I think to myself), because I am making him walk in the rain.
He walks over - and I say "I'm looking for the College" and he says "Yep. It's here." - hmmm ok - so I get my ID and he's inspecting my student ID, like I'm a criminal, now remember, he is still carrying the big gun and it is nearly falling off of him... he's eyeing me and then the ID and so, I smile - trying to let him know that I am not a criminal.
Note: Never Smile at a big guy with a gun! It makes him more angry. So, after a minute he let's me through ... "Miss. Do you know how to get to the college directly. You just follow the road left at the intersection, yes, that's right."

PheW! Hahaha, ok, it doesn't sound that scary, but it was interesting nonetheless. And I felt like rambling on, so there...

ohh, and none of this really matters, because I'm going on vacation at the end of the month :-p

Now, I need some rest.

Thunder is amazing & it makes certain situations even more interesting!

I have a story for you later...

Serious Fireworks!

Fireworks are going off all around my neighborhood! Happy 4th of JULY!!

Cranberry Lake - Trek up Bear Mtn.

Sometimes, to see the best view you've got to take that extra step on the trail less traveled. Often, that step is not the easiest one - but a necessary one.
Cheers to Bear Mountain for delivering serenity and demanding effort... without, it wouldn't have been as great!

The view of the lake is amazing on the way up - too bad I forgot my camera again...
